CIHANBEYLI
There are no natural borders separating Konya from Cihanbeyli. Cihanbeyli is a part of Konya in terms of its historical development, geographical structure and social life. The first name of Cihanbeyli is "Esbikeşan". Later it was named "İnevi" and it was named İnevi for many years. Esbikeşan district has changed places from district to sub-district and from district to district many times.

The "Canbegli Tribe" settled in the Böğrüdelik Village of Cihanbeyli. Böğrüdelik became the district center in 1928. Cihanbeyli is also connected to this district by taking the name of "Mürsel Efendi" Township. In 1929, the district status was abolished from Böğrüdelik, and Mürseli Efendi Subdistrict became a district. In accordance with the name of the Canbeyli Tribe in Böğrüdelik, the name Mürseli Efendi is changed to Cihanbeyli. Kulu Village, Altınekin and Yeniceoba sub-districts are connected to the newly established district. Later in 1954, Kulu and in 1987 Altınekin became the district center and they left Cihanbeyli.

Cihanbeyli is located in the middle of the Central Anatolian Region. It is 100 km from the province of Konya to which it is connected. north, west of Salt Lake. It lies between 32-34 degrees east meridians and 38-39 degrees north parallels. It is also the largest district of Turkey in terms of surface area.

Cihanbeyli is like the continuation of the Konya Plain extending to the north. The sections where the district is located show the characteristics of a wide plateau. The lowland-highland features continue towards Ankara by taking the neighbor of Kulu district as well. Plains are generally between 950 and 1000 meters above sea level. The sea height of the highland parts exceeds 1000 meters.
