HÜYÜK
Hüyük was founded by Şeyh İdris and his brother Şeyh Bahri, who migrated from Khorasan to Konya in 1210. The mausoleums of these individuals are still in the town centre. In addition, it is understood from various historical objects found in various places that the region has been inhabited since the Paleolithic Age.
It became a parish in 1943, a municipality in 1955, and a district in 1987. The district center is located in the west of Konya. Doğanhisar and Şarkikaraağaç are located in the north, and Beyşehir in the south. The north and east of Hüyük is surrounded by mountains. Sultan Mountains are located in the north. There are Beyşehir Lake in the west and agricultural lands surrounded by rough and flat ridges in the south, where dry agriculture is made. Soil structure in most of the district is the same. Since the district is located in the north of the Mediterranean region and in the Lakes region, it has a climate between the Mediterranean and Central Anatolian climates. As a typical characteristic of the lakes region, summers are hot, winters are cold and rainy. As a stream, there are small streams that carry the rain water of the mountainous land in the north and east to Beyşehir Lake. The altitude of the district from the sea is 1250 meters.
Soil jugs and pottery are made in Hüyük. In recent years, Hüyük Strawberry has specialized in growing and Hüyük Strawberry has become a brand. In addition, grape cultivation is carried out, and accordingly, molasses, vinegar and pickles are produced.

In this area, a structuring is carried out that takes into account the historical and social accumulations of both the village and the region. Events, workshops and living spaces of competent artists, both nationally and internationally, are created. It is a project that will make serious contributions to the cultural and economic life of the village and the region. In this way, it is a first in its field in Turkey.
The project implementation area is the area adjacent to the new settlement area of Çavuş Town and includes two small ponds. It is on the slopes of the hills called Aktepe and Koru. A new regional planning has been made here. Recreation areas, original parks, trial gardens, residences for settlement, cultural center and various art workshops are established in the region.
