SEYDISEHIR
In ancient times, the existence of cities such as Amblada, Vasada, Arvana, Elita, Dalisandus in Seydişehir is determined. During the excavations carried out in 1970, the remains of the Roman Age Amphitheater were unearthed near the town of Bostandere.
It is estimated that Seydişehir was founded in 1310 by Seyit Harun Veli from Horasan. Eşrefoğulları Principality, as a part of the Anatolian Seljuk State, continued its vitality until the 1327 Mongol invasion, including the Seydişehir region. Later, Seydişehir is a small town connected to the Hamidoğulları Principality, which also ruled in this region.
Towards the end of the 14th century, the Karamanoğlu Principality, which continued its life in the region, and the Ottomans became neighbors. Although Melek Hatun, the daughter of the Ottoman Sultan Murad Hüdavendigar, and Karamanoğlu Alaeddin Ali Bey got married, the tension between the two kingdoms continued and the Ottomans bought the Seydişehir, Akşehir and Beyşehir regions by paying 80,000 gold.
During the reign of Mehmet the Conqueror, the conflict between them was definitely ended and Seydişehir joined the Ottoman lands.
Seydişehir became a municipality in 1871 and a district in 1915.
Sayyid Harun Veli Mosque and Tomb
SEYYID HARUN VELI MOSQUE: Seyyid Harun Mosque is in the southern part of Seydişehir, within the Seyyid Harun Veli Complex. It is known that it was built by Sayyid Harun in 1310, when he "came here to establish a city with divine inspiration". There are three cupolas on the north side of the mosque. One of the three cupolas adjacent to the northern façade belongs to Sayyid Harun Veli. The other cupola adjacent to the north east of the mosque is the mausoleum of Caliph Sultan. The other cupola adjacent to the north wall of the mosque belongs to Rüstem Bey and Sultan Hatun.
SEYYID HARUN VELI TOMB: It is the tomb of Sayyid Harun Veli, adjacent to the north façade of the Sayyid Harun Veli Mosque, to the right of the cupola. Its inscription is as follows: “This blessed tomb was built on the death of Sayyid-i Harun, the lord of the poor, who attained the Mercy of Allah and whose sins were forgiven, in seven hundred and twenty years ago." It was made in the same year after his death.
Sheikh Haji Abdullah Efendi Tomb
SHEIKH HACI ABDULLAH EFENDI TOMB: It is in the northwest of Seyyid Harun Veli Hamam. The tomb was built by the order of Sultan Abdulhamit Han for the Müderris and Nakşibendi Sect Sheikh Hacı Abdullah Efendi, who died in 1903. The tomb, which was repaired from its foundation in 1955 without losing its old shape, has a rectangular plan. Inside the tomb, there are 7-8 uninscribed tombs with plastered stone and wooden sarcophagi. These tombs are dedicated to Şeyh Hacı Abdullah Efendi and his sons Şeyh Hocaken, Hacı Ahmet and Hacı Şakir and one of his followers, Hacı Hekim Ali from Uşak, to Şeyh Abdullah Hanım Hacı Arife, Şeyh Hacı Abdullah's daughter Şerife Kadın, Şeyh Hocaken Efendi's wife Emine Hanım. and belongs to other ladies from the family.
MEMİŞ EFENDİ TOMB: Many scholars and sheiks came from the descendants of Hacı Memiş Efendi. No scholar has come from the progeny of so many scholars, men and sheikhs. While he was alive, they used to say, "There is no man who rots his body." When his tomb was opened while his tomb was being built 13 years after his death, it was seen that his shroud and bodies had never deteriorated as they were alive. When they migrated to the Baki realm, there were 7 sons and 4 daughters in 4 wives. The Tomb of Hacı Memiş Efendi is in the town of Çavuş on the Konya-Seydişehir road, 70 kilometers from Konya and 30 kilometers from Seydişehir.
Adile Baysal Culture and Art House
ADİLE BAYSAL CULTURE AND ART HOUSE: The culture and art house, which reflects the traditional architecture of Seydişehir, serves to transfer the historical and cultural heritages to future generations and to introduce the traditional culture to the guests. Cultural and artistic works such as local folk clothes, ornaments, clog samples, handicrafts of the housewives of Seydişehir, local carpets, rugs and weaving looms, Ottoman period bows, Ottoman sherbet cauldrons, knots, cauldrons, pans, old weapons and household items are held.

Seydişehir Eti Aluminum Facilities
ETİ ALUMINUM FACILITIES: Aluminum enterprises were established in the west of Konya, in the town of Seydişehir, in order to utilize the bauxite ore deposits of Seydişehir and Akseki in the Mediterranean Region and to produce raw aluminum. The facility was transferred to the private sector in 2005 within the scope of privatization. Eti Aluminum is the only integrated aluminum factory in our country that produces aluminum from ore.
